Melanie Johnston And Mack Johnston - Dulcimer Jam Training Wheels

Regular price $15.00

This is a book of sheet music from Melanie and Mack Johnston. With many (most!) of the popular jam tunes included, this is a really great book. But what makes it special? All of the tunes are simplified into quarter notes (or larger values, half and whole!) so that a fresh beginner can join the jam and play more than chords!

Perfect for the newer player, this is an amazing book.

      Training wheels indeed!

If you’re looking for music to play on the dulcimer that’s as simple as can be while you get the feel of the fret board, finger position on the frets, simple time, single melody notes (no multiple notes to be played) this is the choice: wonderful resource for rank beginners. Even more experienced beginners. With this book you can play songs on the Appalachian dulcimer if you’ve had little or no training or previous practice. Includes many traditional dulcimer tunes, tabbed in single note melody tab (no notes in the middle or bass strings) with strumming only of the middle and bass strings. This book will get you started playing recognizable songs quickly. Highly recommended.

Dulcimer Jam Training Wheels. What a Beginning!

I quite enjoyed starting to play the book. A fair number of the songs are unfamiliar to me--that is a good thing. The type is large enough to read, and there is plenty of space so I'm not squinting at the Tab. Good Job! I probably should give it a 5, but haven't had long enough to get familiar with the book to make a final judgement.

      Outstanding

Great tunes nicely rendered. Once you get through with this book, you’ll be able to play dozens and dozens of fiddle tunes. They’re set up so that a beginner can jump right in.
