Whitewater Whirl: A Song History
"Whitewater Whirl" is the thirteenth of fourteen pieces in DulciFlute 3, a Fingers Of Steel songbook by John and Karen Keane for Native American flute and mountain dulcimer played as a duet; only "Peace And Promise" follows it in the listing.[1] The setup the listing calls for is simple: a dulcimer in DAD tuning and a flute in B minor.[1] The download bundles a 26-page book, fourteen single-song PDFs and 28 MP3 recordings of the music as written, though the listing names no composer for any one title.[1]

Karen Keane's DulcimerDownloads page describes her and John as Shreveport, Louisiana, performers on mountain dulcimer, Native American flute, ukulele and cajon, and credits them with several books and CDs of their own compositions for dulcimer and flute.[2] "Whitewater Whirl" does not appear on either of two albums by John and Karen Keane on Apple Music, Dulcimer Stories from 2012 and Moonburn from 2013.[3][4] The sources consulted here say nothing more about the tune: not who wrote it, when, or what its title describes.[1][2][3][4]
