This Road This Moment: A Song History
"This Road This Moment" is a Bing Futch composition, and its page in his songbook All Over The Map carries a 2005 copyright from J.O.B. Entertainment.[1] The book traces the tune to Clear Blue Trickling, an album by Mohave, the band Futch co-founded in 1999 and in which he played mountain dulcimer.[1][2] Apple Music gives the album's release date as September 30, 2005, and lists "This Road This Moment" as its eleventh and closing track.[3] In the sources consulted here, nothing explains the title.[1][2][3]

All Over The Map is a downloadable mountain dulcimer collection that mixes a few Futch originals with folk classics and includes an MP3 recording of each song.[1] There the tune is set in DAA tuning, and its opening section is marked to be played with a drone.[1]
Since 2006 Futch has performed as a solo act at festivals and venues around the country, and he films episodes of Dulcimerica, a long-running YouTube video series.[2] At the 2016 International Blues Challenge in Memphis he reached the finals and won the solo/duo "Best Guitarist" award while playing only the mountain dulcimer.[2]
