The Stream Of Youth: A Song History
"The Stream Of Youth" is one of fourteen pieces in DulciFlute 3, John and Karen Keane's songbook of duets for Native American flute and mountain dulcimer, published by Fingers Of Steel.[1] The listing asks for a dulcimer tuned DAD and a flute in B minor, and the download comes with recordings of the songs.[1]

Christoph Nathe, Water in the Mountains, etching, c. 1790–1800. Shown for its stream; it has no connection to the piece.
The Keanes come from Shreveport, Louisiana, and both earned music education degrees at what is now the University of Louisiana at Monroe; they play mountain dulcimer, Native American flute, ukulele and cajon, and have produced several books and recordings of their own music for dulcimer and flute.[2] The sources consulted here do not say which of the two wrote this piece, when, or what its title refers to.[1]
