The Norsemen: A Song History
"The Norsemen" appears in DulciWhistle, a book of duets for mountain dulcimer and pennywhistle (also called the tin whistle) by John Keane and Karen Keane, published by Fingers Of Steel; all fourteen titles in it are the Keanes' own tunes.[1] The listing names it fourth among those titles and says the download comes with MP3 recordings of each song.[1]

Dragon's Head, walrus ivory, 1100–1150. Shown because the museum likens its carving to the prows of Viking ships; it has no connection to the tune.
The Keanes are from Shreveport, Louisiana; both earned music education degrees at Northeast Louisiana University, now the University of Louisiana-Monroe, and their own compositions for mountain dulcimer and Native American flute fill a number of books and CDs.[2] None of the sources consulted here explains the title, dates the tune, or mentions a recording of it apart from the audio that comes with the book.[1][2]
