The Green Man: A Song History
Deborah Hamouris includes "The Green Man" in Indian Summer, her own publication of 24 tunes for standard mountain dulcimer, in two dulcimer parts in DAD tuning, and the book's listing credits the poem to Wm. Anderson and the music and verse to John H. Brownson.[1] It is the first track on The Green Man, the album Hamouris recorded with Buffalo as The DulciMates, whose description calls the title cut "a setting to music of William Anderson's 'The Green Man'".[2][3] Her biography dates the album to 2012.[4] The sources consulted here do not identify which William Anderson wrote the poem, nor say who John H. Brownson is.[1][2][3]
