The Cooing Cave: A Song History

Deborah Hamouris includes "The Cooing Cave" in Indian Summer, her own publication of 24 tunes for standard mountain dulcimer with notes on each tune, where it is listed once, in DAD tuning.[1] She recorded it with The DulciMates, her folk duo with fellow dulcimer player Buffalo, on the album The Green Man, whose description counts it as one of the album's two original tunes.[2][3] On the album it is the second track, paired with "Rosin the Beau."[4] Her biography dates the album to 2012.[3] None of the sources consulted here explains the tune's title.[1][2][4]
