Hit The Trail: A Song History
"Hit The Trail" is one of fourteen pieces in DulciFlute 2, the second volume of duets for mountain dulcimer and Native American flute by John Keane and Karen Keane, published by Fingers Of Steel.[1] According to the book's product listing, it offers a set of original songs for that flute-and-dulcimer pairing, and the download includes MP3 recordings of every song, though no individual tune is credited to either of the Keanes.[1] The Keanes are from Shreveport, Louisiana, both earned music-education degrees, and have released a number of books and recordings of music they composed for the dulcimer and the flute.[2][3] The sources consulted here do not say which of the Keanes wrote this tune or what inspired its title.[1][2][3]
