Glass Island Reel: A Song History

← Back to Browse By Song

"Glass Island Reel" is one of the tunes in Steve Eulberg's Another Jig Will Do: Songs And Tunes Of The Angles And The Celts, a book for both mountain and hammered dulcimer published by Fingers Of Steel, whose listing sets it in DAD tuning and names no composer.[1] The book's contents page, reproduced on the listing, files it among the reels with a capo at the first fret, and the download includes recordings by Eulberg himself.[1] Eulberg's site dates the book to 2009, and the tune also appears in his guitar edition of the collection.[2][3]

The book's listing presents Eulberg as a performer and teacher on both mountain and hammered dulcimer.[1] His profile with the touring musicians' union AFM Local 1000 says he owns Owl Mountain Music and co-owns and teaches at DulcimerCrossing.com.[4]
