"Bigfoot's Regret" is an original mountain dulcimer tune by John Keane, a Shreveport, Louisiana, musician and music educator who performs together with Karen Keane.[1][2] It appears in his 15 Originals, a 43-page book of fifteen tunes, all credited to him, published by Fingers Of Steel; the listing gives this one in DAC tuning.[1] The sources consulted here give no account of its inspiration and no recording of it.[1][2]

Small dark metal figure of a shaggy, bearded wild man with one arm raised over his head

Wild Man, copper alloy, late 1400s. A medieval wild man rather than Bigfoot, shown in fun; it has no connection to the tune.

Bigfoot, also called Sasquatch, is a creature of North American legend; Britannica describes it as a "large, hairy, humanlike creature believed by some people to exist" in the northwestern United States and western Canada.[3] The same source suggests it may be North America's answer to the Yeti, or Abominable Snowman, which it calls a mythical monster of the Himalayas.[3]
