Allaire: A Song History

← Back to Browse By Song

“Allaire” is a tune by Molly Mason, credited to her alone in the mountain dulcimer edition sold through the store of Jay Ungar and Molly Mason.[1] It is the first tune in the duo's book Catskill Mountain Waltzes and Airs, on page 6.[2] Swinging Door Music published that book in 2013, and it collects 62 waltzes and airs the couple composed themselves, written out in standard notation with chords marked.[3] The dulcimer edition arranges 22 tunes from the book, all but one of them in DAD tuning, and “Allaire” is one of the DAD arrangements.[1]
