Judy House - Christmas Songs For The Mountain Dulcimer

Regular price $16.00

This is a book of sheet music, from Judy House. Christmas tunes. (You probably figured that out from the title, right?) What makes this book special, then? I'm glad you asked!

This is one of the best ever books of Christmas (plus a few holiday tunes!) for mountain dulcimer, because of Judy's fine arranging skills. She's put enough harmony and interesting stuff on top of the melodies to make your performances sound rich and full. These aren't "over the top" arrangements, too difficult to play for most people, but they're far more than the "here's a melody line with chord symbols" approach that many arrangers take.

The right balance of holiday tunes and Christmas tunes, the right balance of easy and difficult. All around, the right choice for most of us. Enjoy!

Not too Hard for Beginners

I really like Judy House's arrangements because they are not too difficult for beginners to play and there are a number that do not require + frets. Takes a bit of practice, but that's why the Christmas Season is so long. My only wish is that there were more tabs out there for the older dulcimers that do not have a 6+ fret. I've got a couple of those and groan every time I find a song I like and see that tab. I sure would like a workaround!

Outstanding Array of Holiday Tunes

I am new to the mountain dulcimer. Christmas tunes are always fun in any instrument, and these from Judy House are great for strumming. A challenge for us novices but do-able and fun.

Simple and Easy to use

This particular song collection is very basic in its approach and the tablature is quite easy to play. The songs are familiar, but well arranged, and the history of selected songs is most interesting.

Tis the Season

Christmas Songs for the Mountain Dulcimer by Judy House is a welcome addition to my music libray.
In addition to well known songs of the season, there are also lesser known as well.
Scattered through the book are useful information about song and writers.
Make Christmas last all year long and enjoy the music of the Holidays.
